Up-Root Hate: Celebrate Freedom

by Heather Parker

Join neighbors and community leaders at 1500 Homestead Drive in Metairie at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 4 to up-root the letters “KKK” burned into a neighbor’s lawn.

Reject all that it stands for by participating in an interfaith stand of freedom, prayer and song and helping to re-sod the grass.  All are welcome, regardless of race or religion.

Participants include:

The Rev’d Claire Brooks, Chinese Presbyterian Church

Msgr. Ralph Carroll, St. Clement Roman Catholic Church

The Rev’d Kevin DeLerao, St. Clement Roman Catholic Church

The Rev’d John Deschner, Munholland United Methodist Church

The Rev’d A.J. Heine, St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church

The Rev’d Dan Krutz, Louisiana Interfaith Conference & St. Francis Episcopal Church, Denham Springs

Rabbi Robert Loewy, Congregation Gates of Prayer Synagogue

Rabbi David Posternock, Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue

Imam Omar Suleiman, Masjid Abu Bakr As-Sideeq Mosque
