Can you imagine experiencing a trauma such as a car accident, being the victim of domestic violence, or an act of violence, or having the police come to your door to tell you that a loved one has been badly injured or has died? What could bring you comfort? Imagine if the police immediately wrapped you in a shawl that had been blessed, a visible sign that you are being cared for, and that you are wrapped in prayers…hopefully that would be of comfort.

The Shawl Ministry at St. Luke’s made 144 fleece shawls for the East Baton Rouge Parish Police to carry in their patrol cars. These shawls were blessed on Sunday, May 29th, then given to the police to share with those who are in need of God’s loving arms to be wrapped around them at a most difficult time.
