Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
Earlier this morning, I received an email from the interim head at St. Martin’s Episcopal School. Fr. Millican shared the following prayer with the faculty and staff:
Gracious God: We place our community under your loving and providential care. We give thanks for those who have worked long hours and sleepless nights in preparation for the storm, and we ask our blessings on those who will restore our infrastructure. Bless and protect our families, staff, and faculty, wherever they may be. Lift them in their concerns and anxieties, and provide, through the kindness of others, whatever assistance they may need. In all things, dear Lord, may we turn to you for strength and support, and praise you in all circumstances, you who with the Son, and Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
I offer this prayer to you all as we move through this time of uncertainty and fear. Know that each of you are in my prayers. Our staff, along with our disaster coordinator and Episcopal Relief and Development are working to assess the damage and provide support for our clergy, congregations, and communities. The road of recovery will be long, but I am certain of our strength and resiliency.

You remain in my prayers,
The Rt. Rev. Morris K. Thompson, Jr.
Bishop of Louisiana
