Matthew Thanksgiving Service

Rev. LeBaron Taylor, St. Matthew’s; Rev. William Moon, Elizabeth Sullivan Methodist Church; Deacon Louis Ogle, St. Matthew’s; and Rev. James Stayton, First Presbyterian church. All ministers led the prayers or read the lessons.

St. Matthew’s, Bogalusa, hosted an ecumenical Thanksgiving service on November 22, 2015 under the leadership of Reverend LeBaron Taylor. Ministers and congregations participating were the Presbyterians and Methodists. The Reverend Bill Moon from the Bogalusa Methodist church gave the sermon. Those attending the service were asked to bring food items for the Bogalusa Help Center which is the Bogalusa food bank. The director of the Help Center, Eugene Hayman, also spoke about its history in Bogalusa, reminding the congregation that the food bank originated on the grounds of St Matthew’s. Overall, it was an uplifting and joyous occasion for all who attended.
