A range of volunteer opportunities are still available at the Episcopal Church 79th General Convention, Thursday, July 5 to Friday, July 13 at The Austin Convention Center, Austin, Texas (Diocese of Texas).
General Convention along with the Episcopal Church Women who meet concurrently, require the gifts and hospitality of volunteers to operate efficiently.
“Volunteers for the General Convention come together to welcome, assist, and serve the Convention by providing support through hands-on, behind-the-scenes work as an extension of the Office of the General Convention,” commented Lori Ionnitiu, General Convention Manager. “We encourage and welcome all who are interested and willing to share their time and talents with us.”
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available for many skills and talents. Daily schedules range from half-day to multiple shifts over many days.

The Episcopal Church’s General Convention is held every three years to consider the legislative business of the church. General Convention is the bicameral governing body of the Church, comprised of the House of Bishops, with upwards of 200 active and retired bishops, and the House of Deputies, with clergy and lay deputies elected from the 109 dioceses and three regional areas of the Church, at more than 800 members.
