Trinity seeks an ordained priest to collaborate with current clergy across spectrum of parish initiatives and
priorities in a large, vibrant and socially engaged Episcopal church. We are looking for a priest who feels
specifically called to the associate position to be able to enjoy a focused ministry within a broad framework
of an active church.These focal areas might include: Youth and Young Families, Outreach, Music and
Worship, Stewardship, and/or Formation.

This position requires either a clergy person with several years parish experience or potentially a recent
seminary graduate that can demonstrate prior supervisory and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will have a passion for parish ministry and deepening the engagement of all
persons with outreach, formation and participation in worship.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Compensation includes health and dental coverage and
participation in the Church Pension Fund.

Job Description for Associate Rector
The Associate Rector is responsible for sharing in the ministry of the church for worship, formation,
fellowship and service through the preaching, liturgical and pastoral life of the congregation as directed by
the Rector. He/She will participate fully in required trainings as needed including Undoing Racism,
Safeguarding God’s Children, etc.

Accountability
Works directly under the supervision of the Rector.

Level of Independence/Collaboration
Works independently and is expected to manage time and resources, attend staff meetings, and maintain
office hours, while also working in close collaboration with the rector, other priests and lay leaders with
resources from supporting lay ministry staff.

Principal Functions
• Regular participation in the Sunday and weekday services and presiding and preaching as assigned.
• Provide pastoral ministry for baptisms, weddings (preparation etc.), hospital visitation, shut-in visitation,
funerals and off-campus Eucharists.
• Regularly meet with fellow clergy, staff, Vestry and other committees as assigned.
• Teaching a course in the Adult Christian Education as requested by the Rector.
• Develop and support specific parish groups as assigned by the Rector.
• Participate in newcomers programs and activities.
• Provide pertinent information for parish communications’ mediums, i.e. Sunday
bulletin, newsletter, website, etc.
• Interface with staff in fulfilling pastoral service and seek staff participation and
support in the performance of tasks.
• Attend diocesan and local clergy gatherings and annual retreats as well as serving on diocesan
committees.
