On September 9, 2017, on the occasion of his 108th birthday, the people of Historic St. Luke’s, New Orleans, and the Diocese of Louisiana gathered to honor Mr. Lawrence Brooks, the oldest parishioner in the diocese and the oldest World War II veteran in Louisiana.
“Happy Birthday to you…” Tonight we had the pleasure of celebrating the 108th birthday of Mr. Lawrence Brooks, longtime parishioner of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in New Orleans. A special service and gala was held in his honor.
