Parish Profile: St. Patrick’s Profile
St. Patrick’s, Zachary is a pastoral sized congregation located in a growing community just north of Baton Rouge. Zachary has had the number one school district in the state for over 10 years. It is a growing community that has recently celebrated a great achievement with the beautiful renovation of their church. The church is happy and healthy and the previous rector left the congregation poised for growth. It is one of the jewels of the diocese.
Last year, a relationship was forged between St. Patrick’s and St. Augustine’s (a family-sized parish in the Baton Rouge area). This was done to both provide pastoral and sacramental presence, but also to help vision the future of this congregation. St. Patrick’s really sees this as an example of outreach and both the vestry and the congregation have been very supportive of the relationship. Therefore, the rector will hold services at both congregations on Sunday morning and respond to pastoral emergencies as needed.
